One plan. Everything reads from it.

Build each day’s call sheet from your shooting schedule. Slate Runner brings in the scenes, cast, locations and crew details from your project. Add the call times, review the details and export the call sheet to share with your crew.

  1. •

    Script

Import the screenplay. Every scene heading becomes a scene with its length in eighths; every character cue becomes a cast member.

  2. •

    Breakdown

Confirm what each scene needs, department by department, with the page in front of you.

  3. •

    Stripboard and schedule

Put the scenes on shoot days. The Day Out of Days comes straight off the board.

  4. •

    Call sheets

Each shoot day already has its scenes, cast, locations and crew. Add the times and send it.

  5. •

    The shoot

Shot lists, camera log, lined script, timecards and the daily report, day by day.

  6. •

    Budget

Create your production budget with quantities and rates, organized by category.

What is in the workspace

From the script breakdown to the final production report. All included in your subscription.

Script import

Final Draft, Fountain, text PDF, plain text, or a pasted draft.

Breakdown

Work scene by scene with the script beside you. Highlight a word to tag it, confirm or reject what the import suggested for props, wardrobe, vehicles, stunts and safety, and mark the scene reviewed.

Stripboard

Strips in the standard board colors, with a black day board closing each day. Drag strips between days, or send them from a menu on a tablet. Days can be marked shoot, travel, prep or holiday.

Call sheets

Built from the day: scenes and pages, who works, locations with their addresses, the crew list, confirmed safety notes, and the details your crew needs for the day. Finalize a revision and export a file to email.

Shots and dailies

Shot lists per scene, a camera log with takes and circled takes, and a daily production report.

Script supervision

A lined script, takes and continuity notes, and a coverage view that shows which lines have no setup against them yet.

Crew and hours

Contacts and rates, timecards with call, meal and wrap, straight and overtime hours under your own overtime rules.

Equipment and props

One inventory for rented and owned kit. A rental costs rate by days by quantity and follows the shoot length; owned kit shows what renting it would have cost.

Budget

Plain categories, with lines that are a quantity times a rate. Link a line to the schedule and it follows the stripboard.

Reports

Prepare budget summaries and detailed budgets, crew hours and pay reports, shooting schedules, Day Out of Days reports and daily production reports.

One subscription. The whole workspace.

Every screen above is included: script import, breakdown, stripboard, call sheets, shots, script supervision, crew, equipment, budget and reports, in one production workspace.

What can I do during the free trial?

All features are included for seven days. A card is required, but you won’t be charged or subscribed automatically. One trial per person. Choose a paid plan to continue after your trial.

Do I need to write my script in Slate Runner?

No. Import a Final Draft, Fountain, plain-text or text-based PDF file, or paste your screenplay. Slate Runner turns the scene headings into scenes you can break down and schedule.

Can I check and change the breakdown?

Yes. Review each scene with the script beside you. Confirm or reject suggested elements, highlight words to tag them, and mark the scene reviewed when you’re done.

Does everyone on the crew need an account?

No. Share call sheets and reports with your crew as PDFs. Only the person managing the project needs an account.

Can I take my work out of Slate Runner?

Yes. Export supported production reports as PDF or print them.

What happens when I cancel?

Monthly cancellation stops the next renewal, with access through the end of that billing date. For an annual plan, access continues through the end of the next monthly anniversary date. We keep $15 for each billing month started and refund the remainder of your $150 annual payment. Review your cancellation date and refund in Account & Billing. You can renew or change plans at any time.
